"Air-alarms"

Performed by Maria Dolgous and directed by Aljoscha at the National Circus of Ukraine, Kyiv.

In a war changed world, the clowness-girl watches peaceful times vanish like a lost balloon. Daily shellings and bombings induce constant dread. Air-alarms trigger her amygdala, releasing cortisol, embedding chronic stress in her psyche. Protecting bioisms and clutching her teddy bear become routine, reflecting biological responses to fear.
Her neural development going to be altered by this prolonged stress, impacting resilience and emotional health. The bioisms symbolize innocence she desperately shields. What kind of person will she become, shaped by war's unyielding presence? The Dolgous's performance is about about long-term psychological impacts, balancing between resilience and trauma.
